Ash Wednesday Service will be held on Wed, Feb 22 at 6:30p.m. Come for a time of worship, reflection and the placing of ashes on your forehead. This is the traditional start of Lent.

 

Ash Wednesday Meal. You are invited to a Wed Meal (BIG Meal) on Wed, Feb 22 from 5:45p.m. until 6:20p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

 

"Go Bananas!" You are invited to give a love offering on Sunday, Feb 26, at both services in support of the Africa Mission Team. Galen Eberhart, Lydia Jansen and Ted Jansen will travel in July to the Kakakumba Center where Rev. Ken Vance and Rev John Enright serve. Your support is needed. It is the 4th week for the new Tots class downstairs during worship; we started with 4 children and now are up to 7. There is an exciting curriculum that they love.

At our Jan 31 Ad Council we voted to approve and affirm the Church Doctor to come and do a Church Diagnostic Consultation. I will share an announcement this Sunday regarding what all that means.

Church Doctor Diagnostic Consultation at First UMC

 

We are excited to bring Dr. Kent Hunter, the Church Doctor, to come and help us grow healthier as a church. He and his team will get information from surveys, interview the congregation and staff, and review our total ministry.

Dr. Hunter and his team will then share with the congregation action steps we can take to improve and become more effective in Making Disciples.

Please keep this process in prayer as we seek to discern God's will for our future and celebrate how the Lord is...

The relay will be May 19 & 20 at the DeKalb High School track. Pay your $10 registration fee and get a packet to start collecting donations for the American Cancer Society for much-needed research for more cures for cancer.
