It is the 4th week for the new Tots class downstairs during worship; we started with 4 children and now are up to 7. There is an exciting curriculum that they love.

At our Jan 31 Ad Council we voted to approve and affirm the Church Doctor to come and do a Church Diagnostic Consultation. I will share an announcement this Sunday regarding what all that means.

Church Doctor Diagnostic Consultation at First UMC

 

We are excited to bring Dr. Kent Hunter, the Church Doctor, to come and help us grow healthier as a church. He and his team will get information from surveys, interview the congregation and staff, and review our total ministry.

Dr. Hunter and his team will then share with the congregation action steps we can take to improve and become more effective in Making Disciples.

Please keep this process in prayer as we seek to discern God's will for our future and celebrate how the Lord is...

The FUMC Methodist Marchers want YOU to be on our Relay for Life team this year and help us as we're "Peace, Love & Hope – Groovin' for a Cure!" The relay will be May 19 & 20 at the DeKalb High School track. Pay your $10 registration fee and get a packet to start collecting donations for the American Cancer Society for much-needed research for more cures for cancer. The Mary Helen Brown Bowmar family wants to thank our church for all your kind notes, prayers and support the past two days. We have felt God's love through you all, and we celebrate her life today – just as she is celebrating in Heaven!!!

Larry & Kathy Waterson are thrilled that there was a large showing at the "Right to Life" march this past Saturday in Ft. Wayne.

Shoemaker's are excited that Alex placed 3rd at wrestling sectionals and qualifies for regionals next Saturday in Goshen!

Scott Moss is joyous that Tae Kwando begins Thursday.

Show Choir fan says both choirs got second place. Both were awarded best choreography at Dwenger in a very tough competition. Several of our youth are involved with this.

So great to have Phyllis back on the organ this week 1st service.

Food Pantry Ministry

Let us continue our generous giving of food & money to our food pantries in 2012. There is always a particular need for shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, bar soap, laundry detergent, paper towels & toilet paper. Thank you for your continued support of this ministry to our community. Baskets are located at the two main entrances.
